Lin Mackrael has 25 years experience in the investment industry and has seen a variety of market cycles and conditions. She began her career as an investment advisor with Merrill Lynch Canada in 1978 where she became one of the firm's leading advisors. In 1993, she joined Jones Heward Investment Management Inc., one of Canada's oldest investment counseling firms, as Vice President and Portfolio Manager. In 1996 she moved to Cassels Blaikie (which later became Scotia Cassels Investment Counsel Limited) remaining there until 2002 as Vice President, Niagara Region, where she was responsible for $600 million in assets.

Lin obtained her Certified Financial Planner designation in 1988 and her Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1995. The combination of her education and experience makes her ideally suited to managing the investments of taxable individuals.
