What to Expect

Our clients receive a monthly statement which details transactions for the month, a portfolio summary, and a valuation. On a quarterly basis, all clients receive a comprehensive report which summarizes all investments held by the client, as well as an investment newsletter which may include an editorial, an economic update, investment commentary, or a discussion of our strategy going forward.

Investment counsellors and portfolio managers must meet the highest conditions of registration and qualifications with provincial securities commissions. While we are primarily discretionary money managers, some of our clients like to have the option of personal input in making changes to holdings in their portfolios. We may discuss with them our ideas on new security recommendations, securities to be sold or reduced in quantity, and provide updates on current market developments.

Our remuneration is based on a fee-for-service rather than a commission basis, thereby offering unbiased securities management counsel together with third party safe-keeping and custodial services. This enables us to offer objectivity and independence in investment matters. We provide a level of personalized service beyond that of most larger financial institutions.

Clients receive, on an annual basis, year-end tax reporting information showing dividend and interest income, capital gains and losses, and deductible investment counsel fees.
